KUTLUĞ ATAMAN

He was born in Istanbul in 1961. In 1988 he finished his Master of Cinema at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

His first feature film, Serpent's Tale (1994) received Istanbul Film Festival SİYAD Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Picture awards. The second feature-length feature film Lola + Bilidikid was shown in the Panorama section of the 49th Berlin Film Festival and was awarded a special jury prize.

Following the films of 2 Young Girls (2005) and Journey to the moon (2009), in 2014, the feature film The Lamb received the CICAE award at the Berlin Film Festival.

Ataman's works, also known as world-wide art works, were exhibited in museums such as Venice Biennial, Dokumenta, Istanbul Biennial, MoMA and Tate.
